Lions Special Olympics was founded in 1999 by the visionary Founder and Convenor – Lion Krishnakant Udeshi, under the banner of Lions Clubs International – District 3231 A1, with the noble mission of creating a platform where differently-abled children could experience equality, inclusion, confidence, and celebration through sports.
What began as a humble local initiative has today transformed into a landmark annual event — a festival of courage and compassion — supported by hundreds of Lions, educators, volunteers, and families united in one purpose: to empower every child to shine.
Over the years, the Lions Special Olympics has evolved not only in scale and spirit, but also in impact and inspiration, standing as a beacon of hope and dignity for thousands of specially-abled children.
The event continues to embody the timeless Olympic oath that reflects its heart and soul:
Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.
